Another year over, a new one just begun...
OK, Christmas is over. Thank whatever deity you believe in.
It's not that i don't like Christmas, I just have had many years of bad Christmas experiences and so as a reaction I try to ignore the hype and if it wasn't for everyone else around me, I'd treat it if it where just another normal day.
I spent Christmas in broken hill again... See above.
Every year I tell myself I won't, but I haven't spent Christmas there for three years, so i figure i should. Now I really remember why i don't want to spend Christmas there. Or really any time there... It's hard to give advise to those you care about and see it ignored time after time after time.
Anyway. new years was quiet too, only because I forgot about the party I was invited to. Oh well. I had fun anyway. We stayed up watching movies (Die hard, Mongol and clone wars) and listened to the fireworks at semaphore (we couldn't actually see them).
Now, I'm trying to do all the last minute stuff before I head off to Tassie tomorrow for the dig at port Arthur. Washing jumpers (because mid summer and it snows there!) and patching my jeans, and rushing around because the assignments I handed in a month ago didn't get to the lecturer and so I have to send copies to him. AH! Any way I also have one other paper due which I am having a heap of trouble with. But that's my own issue. i just can't absorb the topic material.
Anyway, I have to eat breakfast yet, and finish organising my bags and various kits (dig, first aid etc). Then here's my shedual:
2nd: Organise, start to pack
3rd: Morning - Finish packing
Lunch - Beach?
Afternoon - Catch 2:45 flight to Melbourne, then wait for connecting flight to Hobart leaving at 8:30pm.
Night - Arrive Hobart 10:45 pm.
4th : Supply shop. Staying in backpaker accommodation so need basics (noodles bread etc)
5th: Bus to port Arthur leaving at 4pm.
6th... start digging? After here I'm not sure of the exact itinerary. I'll get it, and If I get a chance while I'm there, I'll update.
We'll see. Anyway. Back to it.
