Flu and other delirious rantings.

I have had to rest lately. But that's because I had the flu.
I hate the flu. You ache, and you can't breath properly. You wake up with your mouth feeling like something has died in it because you were breathing through it all night and it's dry and yucky.

But I have had cats to keep me company and they've taken turns to sit with me or sleep with me when I doze off on the couch (don't go there, just don't). And James Bond is great when you can't use your brain properly. Just play and watch the mindless action. Wicked.

But now I'm feeling better and the pressures are mounting again. I need to finish uni readings for one class, and start the readings for another class which are due on the 10th (6 chapters, plus quizzes on each chapter and a critique). Fun. Oh well, I think If I didn't have pressure with my uni work I wouldn't really get any of it done.

Enough procrastination. Here we go.

Time. What's that?

Again, it's been a while, but that's because I have been busy.

Job hunting is slow, and has ground to a near halt at the moment due to everything else that I have on right now.
I have a 3000 word assignment that was due a little earlier than I originally thought and so have been pushing that all day for the last 3 days. Nearly there. Should be done by mid tomorrow (good as that's when it's due).
Also have to plan for a short course I'm doing and need to do readings, quizzes and a critique for that before the 10th Nov, which is when it starts.
Finally I have to read a book for before my next meeting with my potential supervisor next week.

In between all this I have to organise Christmas, fit a doctor appointment in to check my Tetanus etc, organise centrelink and plan for my trip to Port Arthur where I'll be digging for three weeks in January.

Busy, Busy. And still broke =(

Oh. Stress.

I'm at uni, at the Library, and I have just gotten out of a meeting regarding my Masters Thesis. I thought it would be a natural progression, and I find out it isn't and I have to fit it all in one year, and I should have done a subject that I didn't and basically my had just went oh carp. (i did spell that incorrectly on purpose... I'm trying to reduce my swearing in all forms).

That and I'm trying to do an assignment on the archaeological work on the HMS Pandora and I can's find a basic article on the excavation. A lot of analytical work regarding the artefacts found, but not on the actual excavation =(.

Oh well. Just a stress moment. Now I have vented.

And the hammer hits hard

Still job hunting. And still not having any luck. I don't know why. I know I'm not the best in interviews, but even when I show them what I can do, I still don't get the job. Am I looking in the wrong places? I don' know.

But due to that, money is tight. And That means a few changes which will be hard. I can cook, no problem about that. But meat is more expensive now, and veggies aren't as cheap any more. It's odd, when once goat and rabbit where the cheap meat because the higher classes liked beef. Now, they're the fancy meats and more expensive. You'd think, logically, that would mean that beef and sheep would go down in price wouldn't you? Maybe I have to scout around for a cheaper butcher.

I don't know what i can do in the mean time to make some money. i don't really have any skills to sell, IE, teaching, music lessons or the like. Even my knitting is going a bit slow right now. I know I could sell that, but a scarf would take me about a week and a half, 2 weeks, and that's doing it all the time. Who would wait that long? anyway, summer's coming, so the call for scarfs is over really.

Maybe I should try and get into crocheting more. You can make summery things out of that. Or I could try and set up a shop on eBay with the things I make. The thing is, again, do I try and make them in advanced, or do I specify that they're made to order.

*sigh* Just thinking through type.

on the up side, I went and was Journey to the Centre of the Earth in 3D the other day. that was actually a pretty cool movie if a bit gimmicky. But I didn't mind. I like mindless movies, and it had some good action sequences. The only thing is that the glasses always hurt my head after a while.

So thrift lane here I come. Maybe i won't be on the Internets much lately to save $$. We'll see.
